Hello all!

Couldn't resist joining and sending a message, given all the good info here and the great atmosphere. I've had a lot of different vehicles in my past, and I was sworn off buying domestic (had Acura NSX, Lexus LX470, Audi, etc.), but after coming back to GM with my new Yukon I must say they have done a heck of a job--what a truck!

Thanks to all for contributing such useful information. It really helps a newbie get up to speed quickly on the details that define this machine. I'm trying to attach some pics with this message, hope it works:

Welcome, great color choice by the way.

Did you change the radio surround bezel? It looks different or is that just a GMC thing?

WELCOME ABOARD.

for some reason gmc only gives you the wood trim around the radio in the denali. on the regular yukon they give you the silver trim, but there is wood trim on the dash.

Thanks all....

it's great to be here....I see the occasional thread about trucks not starting, etc., and I understand lemons can happen--it's too bad that manufacturing variances, design tolerances, etc. can sometimes get out of whack.

Knock on wood, my Yukon has been bulletproof, and I get the impression that overall this is a solid machine. I was somewhat reluctant buying the first year of a major design change, but I couldn't resist after the test drive!! Appreciate all the welcoming comments....:D

You picked a good one!

Considering that GM has been making these since 1935 (NOT a typo), I'd say they mostly know how to make a great product even from the last version of one generation to first version of the next. I was a little worried about mine too, but it's a very solid machine that hasn't failed to impress me yet! My '04 XL Denali was fantastic (overall), and the GMT900 improved on just about everything. It's a great family vehicle. ;)

my 06 had been bullit proof and i can tell you i have test driven alot of gmt 900's ( like 10) ranging from yukon to xl to denalis, to ltz's to z71's, not one had a problem, but i found love in a dodge charger insted, but still got the bullitproof 06. :D
