I have tried to wd-40, silicone, you name it….. The back doors of my Yukon are noisy and nothing will quiet them down when they open and close. The hinges are good, the doors don’t drop or droop.. Are there replaceable parts for these doors? The truck only has 80K and the back doors rarely get used. Do I need to remove the panel to get to the noisy part? Anyone having a similar issue?

I have never really had luck using wd-40 or silicone based sprays when it comes to quieting and lubricating door parts, the effects of them are short lived, if the parts are really dirty and gunked up I will use wd-40 to freshen them up but I always use a good penetrating lubricant spray such as Marvel Super Lubricant spray, it gets into the tight pivoting spaces and lasts quite a while. Give it a try!!

What kind of noise are we talking about? Squeaks? Clunks?

I greased the snot out of a rear passenger door until it finally dawned on me that it was the "skriiiiitch" noise of the door sliding along the weather stripping near the hinge side as it was opened and closed.

I don’t think it’s the weather stripping because it does it when the door is practically wide open, but I will check that out. I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s the flat piece of metal about ½ way between the hinges. Cold definitely amplifies the effect…………..

Seriously, try the stuff out, spray anything that pivots, slides, basically any moving part of your door (even the latches, you would be suprised how much better that stuff works when lubed up). I usually spray the suspect stuff, open and close the door a few times and spray some more, kinda can make a mess but the results are to die for!!

Going to get some now, I'll let you know how it turns out….
If this doesn't work, guess I just have to start leaving the kids at home :smilielol:

My back doors squeak but it is the weather stripping. Annoying but not a necessary fix.

lol... it's necessary if it bugs me :D

I got it, I took off the interior door panel and douched it will white lithium spray form the inside. It was the flat metal piece that goes into the door, right between the hinges.

Mine does the same thing. I've owned the Tahoe for a couple of months, its bugged me ever since. Finally, the other day, I looked close to see what the heck was making all the noise and found it is the very top of the door seal rubbing across the seal on the body when the door is almost closed. Rubber to rubber. I have put up with the noise just due to knowing that you have to be careful about applying petrolum products to rubber surfaces. If anybody has had any luck with this please enlighten the rest of us...I'm tired of the noise.

Vaseline works great, waterproof and stays put for a good long while. I did that too, the top, forward edge of the door rubber…….
