Looking to buy 96-99 Tahoe/Yukon

Good Morning everyone:
Looking to buy a 96-99, 4wd and just getting a feel to what I may need to look for when purchasing one of these. My dad has had a 96 Tahoe that has survived 10 hard winters in Jackson Wyoming.
Basically I need to upgrade my 98 Subaru wagon, and all the other suv's(under $10K) are either too small or too slow.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

There are plenty of Tahoe' Yukons here, just needed to know if there are problem areas typical for these models that I should look out for, thanks
