looking to buy 08 or 09 denali....2wd and awd question..

I was checking the configurator at the GMC page, and all they list is the AWD denali on the page. I do know for a fact that they offer the Yukon denali 2wd version, but is this something i have to arrange for at the dealer?

Are you sure? The denali's have been AWD only for a few years. Maybe someone took a 2wd yukon and converted it to a denali???

IF it was able to be built that way, i would think you would have to build it that way.. (not an option via internet though)

if you check out the web-page, there is a statement that says that 2wd is available in the fall of 07, which leads me to believe that they forgot to update the the configurator. I dunno =(

near the bottom there is a line that says:
All Wheel Drive (2-wheel drive available late fall 2007)

wonder why they haven't updated...

The Denali is only in AWD. You can turn it off I'm sure by unplugging a fuse, haha

Originally, they did plan to offer the Denali line in both 2wd and AWD, but just have never gotten around to actually doing it.

The Escalade offers both, with 2wd standard and the same AWD optional, but GMC has stayed AWD-only except for the Denali truck. Maybe, finally, for 2009 it will be available, but not now.

I remember, because back when the first '07 information came out, it said the same thing. Never transpired, at least not yet.
