Hello,

I am a Noob to the Tahoe world and am looking for a DIY of how to remove the front and back bowtie on my 2009 Tahoe. I would like to paint them black before replacing them back on. Can someone please help point me in the right direction? I tried the search and did not come up with anything. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the Tahoe Forum.

The front one is easy as it is held on by two speed nuts, I think they are 10mm. There's also a small amount of rubbery adhesive holding it on.

The rear one is held on by 3M body molding tape and is a little tougher. I used a credit card and slipped in behind it. Have to be careful cuz if you pry on it, it might break. Warming w/ a heat gun or hair dryer helps. Others have used monofilament fishing line or dental floss to cut thru the adhesive.

Both of these instructions are for removing just the gold portion.
