I know a guy that is going to trade his 2001 Yukon XL in on a new veh. In 6 to 7 months, it now has 70,000 miles on the clock. What would be a good price for this truck, I want to buy it and was considering offering him what he would get on trade in. Dose anyone know about what the trade in value would be, the truck is in good shape and he has been good with the maintance.

Thanks Jeff.

HitandRunDriver, I checked KBB and Trade in is valued at $5,965.00. I am just wondering if this is a reasonable offer I don’t want to rip him off nor do I want to spend too much.

Thanks Jeff...

So Cal
well again that's if he does trade it into a dealership...You should offer him more than that, but consider that he does get that money towards a new car, hell, he may even get some other benefit or deduction from a new car that he wants

Try and find out more about what the dealers incentives on a new car will be, and try and come up with other options. With gas being as expensive as it is today, they will probably offer lower as large SUV's are not selling as well as they used to

Well I was thinking that the dealer might not offer that much due to low resale. Another friend here at work bought a 2004 F-150 STX for $10,000 that is almost $5,000 under what list is for that truck because they just aren’t selling like they did in the past.

Thanks agian Jeff.
