What's going on yall. Does the RWD Tahoe have a locking rear differential, or was it an option on the 2000-2006 models?

My 2001 did not, and when my 4x4 module went out and I only had 2wd, I got stuck several times on a pretty packed dirt road. One tire would be in the soft ditch, and the other rear tire on the hard road. Which tire do you think pulled? Of course it was the one in the ditch. So after my dad pulled me out, and after all the crap I took from him...I had a eaton limited slip put in when I had my gears replaced. No more problems. Its still not a locker, but works alot better than the stock limited slip. SO ...it was either an option, or only offered as an option on later models.
