locking issues using remote

Help needed. I have a 2004 Tahoe. When I lock it using the remote arn't the lights supose to flash and the horn beep? I went into the vehicle set up and it is set up to do this, lights and horn when locking. Any ideas what is wrong here? bad remote? Remote not programed right?

Are the doors actually locking? If not replace the remote battery if that doesn't work may be a bad remote or programming issue.
