Let's Talk Nav Software Upgrade

I see that there is 2008 Updated version of the GM Navigation Software, 25847541. I would love to have the latest maps and what not but is it worth $199 to upgrade from the 2005 disc that came with my Yukon?

Its just a dvd ..get a buddy to buy it and copy it

The disc is seven gigs. If I used a DL disc, will the nav recognize it and not tell me to flip it over?
