Ok guys you have seen me post three times in the past regarding my check engine light.... I had just picked up the tahoe last week from the dealer for check engine light problem.

Well today was the final straw. The check engine light came on and then as attempted to get to a gas station the engine losing power light came on and it would not go more than 10 mph.....I flat bedded the truck to the dealer and when the guy pulled the straps of my wheels every wheel had a dent in it from the strap.....ughhghhghghg

So I am sending in the lemon law arbitration paperwork in tomorrow... I do not know what else to do. Man I am so bummed! I love this truck!

Depending on what happens I may be selling all the aftermarket stuff...stay tuned.:mad3:

Go through with the paperwork. It's not the end of the world. You can always get another and put your mods on it.
It happens sometimes...............I'd be pissed too.
I LL'd a 98 Burbon back in 99. PIA, but worth it in the long run.

Do you mind me asking how the Arbitration process was? I was going to call a lawer but after reading the paperwork I do not think I need one. You get a decision in 40 days....Sucks cause my 03 never had a single problem.

i would plan to get one just in case, so if you have questions or if gm does somthing stupid. that way you dont mess somthing up.

dont get one right now, but have some in mind or call to set it up so you have access to one as soon as you need it.

be prepared!:mob:

In NY there is a Lemon Law kit that is available to the consumer. You have to read it carefully so the manufacturer doesn't get away with paying you less than what you deserve. Turns out in NY the buyer or Lessee is entitled to the down payment, all monthly payments made, cost of all mods, sales tax, etc. Once I filed, I had the dealer on my side as it was already my second one with them, so they backed me up.
GMC then notified me by phone and made me an offer to pay off truck and I would clear 1K.
Well since I read the literature very well, I knew he was trying to bang me over the head. By the time all was said and done, I returned the rig to the GMC Dealer and he had an 11,700.00 check waiting for me. Which I then parlayed into a 99 2500 with a 454 and still walked away with 7K in my pocket. Gotta love this country....!!
All in all it wasnt a terrible experience , but an educational one. I didnt have a lawyer involved at all. Go for it and wait to see what happens.

I've had no problems mechanically but have some problems with the gadgets. I'm kinda worried about all the little doodads failing down the road. First problem that I had was with a sticky power folding 2nd row seat. No biggy it was just a gummed up cable. My last repair was to the power liftgate. It worked fine loading the groceries but when I got home no power liftgate. It made alot of noise like it was trying to open. I've noticed some pretty glaring trim deficiencies...not something that you'd expect to see in a truck in this price range. The door sills on the rear doors are really flimsy and expose all the wiring tucked underneath. I'm glad I chose to lease this badboy. Something told me not to buy a first year model and I'm glad I listened. Time will tell whether I will buy another one or look elsewhere.

Yea I wont even tell you all the times I have had to take it in for the minor stuff. Door rattle, sunroof, remote start ex.

I put together a file today and my truck has been in 4 times for the Check Engine light, which is why it is there now. It has been 3 other time for the minor stuff I listed above. Crazy....I am so bummed that I could hardly work today. I can not file the arbitration until I get the truck back from the dealer. Keep posted....

I must say this is not a normal experience for a Tahoe owner, once in a while you will get a lemon and it dosn't matter what car type. I hope it all works out and don't give up faith on the Tahoe as I have over 20,000 miles on mine and no problems at all.

Never forget . . .

Also remember that out of the thousands of Tahoes & Yukons sold, you are only going to hear from the few that seem to have lots of problems. This doesn't diminish the angst that those few have to suffer but just that you can't paint with a broad brush.

Oh man, be careful with arbitration. You think it is an impartial 3rd party but the entire arbitration industry is greased by the manufacturers. They will then try to get you to settle for less than you deserve. They will owe you every penny you put into it, minus a small allowance for mileage up to when you first shopped it for that reason. They only pay remaining unused registration. And i'm not sure about the mods but they might have to pay that too. I know because I just lemoned an 05 Mustang GT and they paid back everything I put into it (no mods), paid it off, and paid all attorney fees (about 6K). Total cost Ford about 40K. At first they offered me $1500 and an extended warranty, for my trouble. I told them to try again and a judge urged them to do the right thing. Check engine light 4 times would qualify. PM me if you want the name of an effective attorney.

Well i returned my 07 Last week, I am really unhappy with the situation, My Tahoe since we got it had a bunch of problems, First main issue I was getting a Engine over heating will turn off A/C, The funny thing it was in October so i have not turned on the A/C, Well that turned off the hole engine while the tahoe was on, So pretty scary stuff, Took it to the Dealer, they had the tahoe for about 5 weeks, Finally got it back then more problems came about, Safety belts would not retract, Alarm would go on when ever it wanted, Fuel gauge didnt read correctly. The rear hatch window opened all the times and would not close. Then again just last week the engine problem started again and it did the same thing but this time on the freeway, So not a good situation with this 07 tahoe. I called GMC and i think they are going to get me a 08 Tahoe, hopefully its just the tahoe we got. But pretty sad if this is was Chevy in making these days.

Honestly, sounds like you may have been fooled into buying a flood car to have that many problems. What dealer did you buy it from, if you don't mind me asking?

Hire a lawyer and let him handle it. Know what you want and make it very clear, your money back, a new veh, etc .
I had a 2004 VW Touareg for 40 months and many "last offers" from VWOA. I got all my down payment including 1000 customer bonus, trade allowance, payment plus interest, plus lawyer fee. My lawyer has been doing lemon law work for over 20 years and been to court 3 times once he got what he asked for and the other two they got more. GM does not want to go to court and will give you what you want within the lemon law. Get a copy of all your work orders from dealer if you do not already have them.
Good luck
