Anyone change there rear plate lights over to LED? The newer Lexus cars have 2 soft white LED's on there plates and I think it looks great. Not to mention one of mine is out..... Ideas?

SUPER BRIGHT LEDS home

Go to 12V LED Car Bulbs > Miniature Wedge Base Bulbs. The license plate bulb is type 194, right? If so, I think you are looking for a WLED-x6 LED bulb that illuminates cool white. This is the same color you are referring to on the new Lexus vehicles.

Does the GMT 800 Tahoe DIC inform you if you have a burnt out license plate lamp? If so be sure to purchase LED bulbs with a built in current limiting resistor so the DIC does not interpret the lower operating voltage of the LED as a burnt out bulb. It will function, but the vehicle will think the bulb is burnt out because LEDs have a lower resistance than halogen bulbs. If your vehicle is like my GMT 400 Tahoe and does not monitor for burnt out bulbs then you do not need to make this precaution.

Hopefully this helps!

No, I took the truck to the stealership today to get the oil changed and the rear defrost wire re-conected... They told me that one was out so i figured id see if I could pick up some style points while i was in the process of fixing it.

What are DLR lights? Are those the flood lights / floor lights? That would be cool if those were white LED's also, but then again i dont want to over do it with the LED thing... anyone have pic's?

I've replaced all the exterior lights on the car with led as long as you install the correct resistors you wont have any problems. (license plates comes out clean)

So the 194 is the bulb that I need? did you do the WLEDx6? Im about to order a set off ebay but id like to be sure that 194 is the right bulb. Did you have to put a resistor on the license plate bulbs?

I have LED's from the DRL to the reverses, sidemarkers, tails and plates. Some pics are on the "Lighting Write Up Install" in the 07 Technical Section.
