Leaking intake manifold Gasket

Hello I am new to forum I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe.I was told by the dealer I have a leaking intake gasket I was also told that it would cost 2500 to repair I have been looking in forum and other places on web and can't figure out why they are charging so much I live in Va any guidance or help will be appreciated

Cost that much because they can.... I would get the Felpro Permadry Plus set and put them in myself if it were me. Probably cost you around $50..........

I just changed mine, I spent $60 on gaskets (the metal, and rubber Felpro's), and about 4, or 5 hours,and it runs fine. The dealership will put those p.o.s plastic gaskets back on it, and you don't want that
