Maybe by a few hundred. There's about 3% of the MSRP in holdback/ad plan and misc included in the invoice price.

If they really want to sell one you may be able to get it for $33,500.

Shoot for $8000 off MSRP...

(New rebates of $3,000)

My offer - $34,000

I went it at $9000 off MSRP and ended up paying $8100 off MSRP last Friday....I think with 4th of July coming up and end of month that getting $8000 off MSRP should not be too much of a hassle....I did have to 'convince' him that he was still making money (not as much as he wanted, but more than nothing)...

i have the invoice and there are two fees i'm trying to figure out:

LAM Dealer Contribution - $400
and
LAM Group Contribution - $300

Do you think I should try and get these removed and what are they ?

oh.. and the actual numbers were:

msrp - 40090
invoi - 37152
holdback - 35440

On a '07 right now, I think just about any dealer would sell at invoice. But very few will go into the 3% holdback amount. And the holdback is 3% of the MSRP minus the $900 destination charge.
So to answer your question, I think invoice or better yet, (under invoice) is a good deal. And use any GM card money make the deal even better.

Good Luck and enjoy it no matter what you pay....

Some dealers charge what they call a document prep. fee. A set fee for the paperwork. Try and get rid of this if possible. It is a legal fee, but I don't agree with them. It's more of a profit booster. Make sure you know what the amount of the fee is he charges. I've seen them from $69 to $900. I could live with a $69 charge, but hundreds of $$$ , no way. My dealer charges none.

Mine was filled with gas, detailed, and first oil change was free. All with no document fee's.

Hold tight, they still have room to work. Think of it as a game. It's only the 5th inning!!!!

Also, the calendar is in your favor. End of the month and they sure want the sale now.

Walk in bring your check book tell them that you will write the check if they remove the $599 fee. If they say no.. Get up and walk out the door. They will either stop you or call you within a few hours.

When I bought mine I walked out and said I am going to (Name a different dealer) and within 30 minutes I received a call on my cell phone that they re-worked the numbers and were able to sweeze extra money out of the deal to give me what I wanted.

It took me 3 weeks of negiotiating with different dealers before I paid what I wanted. In the end I got $7300 off MSRP. Granted the trucks MSRP was more at $49660 but the end price was quite under invoice.

Yeah...

Definetely get rid of that $600 fee..that is crap. My dealer filled mine up with gas when I got it.....also filled it up again today when I took them the check from the bank and said he will fill it up AGAIN if I take them the survey when done....is this the only one in your city? Go to another dealer and have them beat the price.....but that $600 is bullsh*t....

No there is another dealer, but they said i should jump at this before they had second thoughts...haha.

Plus no one wants to go the extra mile if its not on their lot.

I think you are getting an ok deal, but most importantly, get what YOU want...if you want black on black LT2 and there is no other one available near you (when I was shopping I must have seen 20 black on black LT2's in Houston), then take it and don't look back. You will be happier paying more and getting what you want then paying less for something you don't want..

Here's the way I see it. He is offering the Tahoe @ $200 under invoice.

The 3% holdback is around $1200... $1200 - $200 = $1000

$1000 + $600 doc fee. = $1600 profit.

This is just a rough estimate, and I feel you are getting a decent deal. Not getting bent over anyway. Like it has been mentioned before, if you love this tahoe, then spend a little extra to get what you want and enjoy it.
I'm always leary about those high doc. fees. And I think $600 is high. But I bet he advertises new vehicles for $1 under invoice.

My Chevy is awesome. As I am in need of another SUV I looked at Ford to have more variety. Was not convinced. So I decided to go either for another Sub, an GMC or an Escalade.

For the Escanade MSRP is 62k. No rebates. What can I expect to pay? Can I do better than 57k? Thanks for your help.

Just went with an XL Denali. Was split in between a 07 burb LTZ, the Denali and an ESV. Or wait for the 08 models with unknown prices and rebates.

I could not find anything close to what I want on the Chevy and there are no rebates on the ESV. There was the Denali with the configuration I want.

What did I pay? Invoice +$199 minus $3000 of rebates. Was that a fair deal even if I know could have done a bit better?
