Introduction, and I've already got some questions.

Hey all. I've always had Suburbans/Yukons in my family but I currently drive an '07 Hummer H2. I love it and have absolutley no complaints about it besides the gas mileage. So with that in mind, I've decided on a Hybrid Yukon. I know I'm going to catch some flak for this, but I'm not a treehugger or anything, it'll just be nice to have a family hauler that I won't have to fill up after every short road trip I take. That being said though, I like my ride to look good and stand apart from others like it. So I was wondering how easy it is to do some work on the hybrids. I would like to add some wheels to it, nothing major, maybe 22" or 24". I know that the reason they come with the tiny 18" aluminum wheels is for weight and rolling resistance, but I'd be willing to sacrifice a little bit to make it look better. Is this possible, or are the electric workings of the engine somehow made for these wheels and no other wheels will work? I was also wondering if an aftermarket exhaust setup would work. Around the city I'm perfectly happy with that almost silent electric whir, but on the rare occasions that I get to open it up on the highway I want that V8 to be loud and proud. That I could obviously live without, it's mainly the wheels I need to know. Even if I'm going to have to stick with the factory wheels I think I'm still sold on it but I just wanted to know before I go in. Thanks a ton, Josh.

Welcome!!

I would think the lug pattern is the same as the other Tahoes and Yukons so I don't see any reason you couldn't change the wheels.. I don't know this to be fact but your local dealer's parts department can pull up specs on the brake and wheel mounting system and should be able to compare it to the standard Tahoe or Yukon and see if there is any diff. OR someone here might chime in and know for fact.

There are several exhausts systems out that have a very good sound to them, SLP being one of them. You can go to youtube.com and but in 2007 Tahoe and listen to several record. I almost bought a H2 a few years back until I asked about the fuel mileage. Good Luck with your deal

Alright then that's what I was looking for. I think I'm gonna be getting it sometime over summer so I'll be sure to post up plenty of pics and all when I decide what to go with. Thanks for the help though.
