I have an 03 Yukon XL that has cluster problems. Mine didn't do it until the warranty was out. $1000 to have it fixed at the dealer. They even had a class action suite (sp) against them. The only way you could get it paid for was if you had less the 70k miles on it or had had it fixed on you own. So far I have just been dealing with it. Mostly the speedo and the oil pressure.

I have an '03 with 152K on it. Right now my Oil Pressure shows pegged at 80psi whether the engine is running or not with the key on. The display part of the dash went out about 25K miles ago. I had it fixed for about $350. I figured it was my sensor, so I bought a new one. So far hving trouble locating it on the engine. Found a thread here with a picture. hopefully it helps. But from reading this thread I am not so sure. I will pull connector first to see if it changes anything. Report back soon.

The speedometer on my 03 yukon is acting up with 92K miles on it. I called the GM warranty people, they said there is a chance that they will pay for it or reimburse me if I get it fixed. The dealership quoted me $525 to replace it. I am waiting on a return call from the warranty folks.

Does anybody know if this is a difficult do-it-yourself?

There are places that repair your cluster for WAY less than the dealer. It's easy to pull the cluster and all you have to do is ship it out, they repair it and ship it back. There is a place we use here in minnesota and it's only about a day turn around, but shipping is next day, so you'll have to factor that in.

Mine acted up one day also, 08 Yukon. I was driving along when I noticed all the guages locked, airbag light came one, and tranny indicator showed being in reverse. Along with that my turn signals and I believe my brake lights stopped working. Tried ONSTAR and they did not register any faults?? Got home turned it off and started it right back up and it fixed itself???
