Nothing remarkable here, just finally got the MSD installed, thanks to everyone for their help and reference photos (JP422).

everything was super easy except the coil install itself, I had to drill out the fasteners to install that properly. PITA.

Cool. Notice any difference in terms of starting, idling, responsiveness, etc?

yeah it super-starts-up-right-away. before this, the engine would turn over once before starting. now it starts when I pull my keys out of my coat. :D really though, it starts instantly
performance wise.. cant tell, just drove it to the doc and back so far. Im about to drive 140miles to the cabin and back so Ill see if I notice any difference there...

PNs from the summit invoice:
MSD-6200 184.40 (this is the not-rev-limiter version of the standard 6A)
MSD-8877 adapta harness 31.30
and MSD 8231 coil 48.20

shipping 11.75

total 275.65

sas, I dont know what you mean about chip and rpm thing, though. can you rephrase?

OK yeah, I went up to the cabin and got it all closed down for the season.

its a 2.25 hour shot basically straight there and back and the truck ran without complaint, really. While driving, with the cruise on at 70 most of the time, its just hung out at about 1800rpms and just purred along smoothly. I stopped to fill up on the way, hoping to not get reformulated gas.. but I did anyway... lame..
I got about 150 miles so far and the fuel hand ( although wiggly :) ) is just below 3/4. so thats ok but it was all freeway... Im looking for 400 miles to this tank and that would be a nice improvement.

Nice! Very clean install! I myself, still have to drill out the old coil... :(

I do know about the instant starts though. As soon as the engine starts to crank, it's already on. I forgot what it was like w/o the MSD 6A... so this feels normal now. I'm sure response is a bit better too.

When I added mine, it did the MSD 6A, MSD 8.5mm wires, New spark plugs (MSD coil came later)... and just w/ these we were averaging 40-50 more miles per tank.

Unfortuneately, for the last 3 yrs, 90% of my truck's use is on city streets (but luckily, it's driven less than 3000 miles/yr), so it's hard to get many miles out of a tank.

Let us know any more results...

**I like the wire looms to protect the wires... nice install!

Thanks, I wouldnt have dont it if you hadnt mentioned it and showed the pics on our model year. and thanks for the kind words. I bought some of that convoluted split loom tubing from the store and just put the wires inside of that to help it resist the heat.

How's the weather/climate over there? Is it humid?

Mine spits some out at startup.... but soon disappears... like most cars. (stock exhuast setup though)

the climate is drying up and getting to be fall. lots of leaves and particulate in the air..
yeah mine seems to dry up after the initial startup. the reason I noticed is that I just started it and moved it into the garage ( just a few feet to get door clearance) and then i wnet back to make sure the hitch was clearing the doorm and i saw the puddle. I looked after my drive to work this moring, and didnt see anything. so maybe its just me.
