I just installed a K&N 77 Cold Air Intake Kit on my 2003 4.8 Yukon, and when I took it out for a test drive it stalled on me for the first time since I bought it. Its also idling rough, the RPMs are bouncing around from 500-700 or so periodically. Any ideas on what would cause this?? I followed the install instructions to the letter and everything went smoothly.

Thanks in advance.

Is the check engine light coming on? You might have some kind of vacuum/air leak. Check all of the clamps and you Mass Aiflow Sensor. thats all i can think of. I installed a 57 series intake and went out and hauled a$$ right after, no problems..

With the engine running, spray some carb cleaner around each connection of the air tube, from the engine to the MAF sensor. If the idle changes while spraying, then you have an air leak there. Also could be your MAF, it could have gotten damaged while installation. Did you clean it out with air or spray it with any kind of cleaner during your installation of the K&N, maybe even dropped it? There is a Mass Airflow sensor spray cleaner that you can buy that is safe to clean your sensor safely if it is dirty, they are so delicate and so very important for your truck to run right. Also pick yourself up some throttle body cleaner like Seafoams "Deep Creep" and spray out your throttle body, might be somewhat dirty, that solved my idle problem.

Nah, I didn't drop it at all, I made sure to be really delicate with it, and no check engine light either Ferg. It seems like when it warms up I don't have any issues, on the way home I got a car wash and some food, idled w/o any problems @ all. I'm gonna see how it runs when I leave tonight, if there's still issues ill hit it with the MAF spray and some Deep Creep.

Thanks for the advice guys
