I have weather tech in channel wind deflectors on my driver and pass windows. The driver side needed to be grinded down after it tore the lower rubber on the door track. Then water got in and my power lock is not working anymore, probably due to water getting in the door. The lock still moves, but not enough to lock and unlock. I gotta take the door apart and free the mechanism. So, my questions are; has anyone had the same problem I've had? Are the stick- ons better?

^^^That is why you should use a heat gun on low heat. Comes off as easy as it went on!
Btw, in-channel visors suck cause they will eventually damage the rubber window channels and cause worse problems as in your case Amstyle...:cryin:

i do prefer the look of inchannel over the stick ones yet i have stick ones that came with it and imma have to replace the tape at least with in channel you can remove whenever you want with ease

Had stick-ons on my 2004 Denali (pic link in sig), and the adhesive held okay, for a while. Came un-stuck after like 6 months (front ones, in spots), so more of the 3M body tape is a good thing to have handy.

I prefer the tighter and cleaner look of the in-channel variety, which is why I have them on my 2007 Denali. I'm sort of growing weary of them altogether however, and am thinking about ditching them and going back to the clean stock look. The chrome ones are also opaque which really cuts down on visibility around an already-thick roof pillar.

I dunno -- what do you think? (Again, pic links in my sig...)

What is the value in these. Is there any other than looks?? I really think they look cool, but im just trying to grasp the concept of why their on there other wise. As in what function do they do??

I've never liked the looks of the stick-ons because, well.... they look stuck on.

I've had Weathertechs in the past but I found them to be very brittle and tricky to install because if you don't get it just right, they will crack when you roll up the windows. I also found them to fit very tightly and it would take awhile for them to settle in so that they don't affect how the windows roll up--I guess it depends on what vehicle you put them on. I put them on a Sequoia, they cracked and the little pieces fell into the door. Luckily, it wasn't visible from the outside.

For my Yukon XL, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with the Weathertechs again, but I definitely wanted in-channel. When I saw some in-channel AVS Ventvisors from Lund International, I bought them instead.

They are much easier to install than the Weathertechs because they don't have the bottom leg (which I found would block the side mirror on some vehicles). They use tape on the inside and don't fit as tightly. I think they are great and they were cheaper than the Weathertechs.

I posted more information and pictures of them on my Yukon here:

The reason why I have them is so that I can open the windows in the rain. It prevents the windows from fogging up without having to turn on the A/C.
