while on the freeway tonight, it has sligtly rained. Enough to make the roads wet. I was going about 70mph, just cruzin along. ALL OF A SUDDEN, OUT OF NOWARE AN @SSHOLE IN A RICER COMES FROM THE SHOLDER AND PULLS RIGHT INFRONT OF ME. I swerve HARD, i mean hard, this is the first time ever i saw "stabilitly system active" on the DIC so i know stabilitrak saved me from rolling over, then have to SLAM on my brakes to avoid hitting the guy in front of me ( at 55mph now) and "Traction active" pops up and i stop in like 30 ft.

NEVER have i driven a vehicle than handled emergency handling so well. THIS THING IS NEVER GETTING SOLD:D

just thought i would share a big reason why im glad i own a GMC and gladly pay what ever gas fee i have to pay.

Ya dude, Stabilitrak is a miracle worker. It has saved me a couple times out on the freeway. About a year ago on I-10 towards Panama City I was cruising about 80 with the tractor trailer in front of me and it had a blowout on one of the left tires. I mean it seemed like that whole damn tire was flying at me, so I kicked the brake, swerved to the right and jerked back left to avoid running into a ditch to the right, Stability System Active came on the DIC and I felt like I had complete control over the truck.

I know if I was in my old 2000 Z71 I would have flipped and ended up upside down in that ditch. I know I did everything wrong in that situation from swerving from the tire to jerking back left after I swerved right, but it just all happened so fast it was just instinct.

Took me about 15 minutes to feel my legs again after that one :eek2: .

he span out and sided the sholder. I laughed and called onstar ( sorry i left out that part, i was kinda still in shock when i got home)

i stayed to make sure he did not try to drive off.

once the police got there i told them what i saw they wrote him a ticket ( since nobody was hurt and he was the only one with property damage, i did not need insurance or anything

Should have stopped, put it in 4 low and backed over him. Just to teach him a lesson.. Sorry, its just something I think about when I am stopped at a red light with a little car behind me that has been tailgating for miles..

Did you push the emergency button or the regular blue one? I've never pushed the emergency one before. I've called to report wrecks before but just 911 for the police, what do they do when you push the red button?

I hope you told him off good  .

i pushed the red since there was traffic and he was blocking the fast lane.

"ONSTAR EMERGENCY SERVICE" is what the guy said, i told him what happend and he said were sending help right away. in about 8 minuites the cops showed up with an ambulance.

the guy in the ricer was a real @ss, while waiting for the police, he was saying stuff like "you cant force me to stay" "it was your fault for going to slow"

( he was mexican, im sure an illeagle) he said ' you white @ss american people are all alike, you just want to pick on the little guy"

i finaly just opened his car and threw ( no just told him to wait in his car) and parked the kon infront of him with flares on the road behind. police showed up, and said i was free to go and thank you. :wow:

They all throw that at me if I have go get on to them about something that went wrong at a new home. "You would'n be peecking on me if me a white man, you a racist Mr. (Meesta) Weathington." When they pull that I usually end up firing them and telling them to take their severance pay and go buy a good old English lesson :yesnod: .

Anyhow, thats good to know about the red button. Guess onstar works quick.

And I've gotta ask, what is a ricer :skep:?

A ricer is someone who drives a piece of junk japanese car. You know, the ones who have the Civics that make alot of noise from the tin can mufflers they put on them. The sad thing is that annoying the people around them somehow tends to boost the ricer's ego, making them put on more useless trash mods like neon or unpainted body kits.

I guess a ricer doesn't have to drive a japanese car. You can rice out a Dodge Neon and you'll get the same result ect. But don't call all Japanese cars rice. The ones that actually have something under the hood like the Evo or STI don't deserve that title. You will quickly be able to differentiate what is rice and what isn't.

Haha, so you're saying those little 15 year old Civic coupes with the Walmart spinners and whiny exhaust would be a ricer :p ?

Thoes to me are a form of clown car and it points to someone who is irresponsible, wasts money and loves attention. I personally hate those annoying little cars.

You have to love those purple neon undercarriage lights that they put on the old Civics to make them look cpp;. I've not news for them, unless its got GMC or Chevy on the front of it, its not cool :D .
