ok so i ordered an hid kit from higerlevelauto.com, any way i also want to get projector beams for them, i have been looking at a few, some even with cool halo rings around them, but there are a few that i like and just want to make sure i get the best and ones that will fit. i have included a few links to show yall what im looking at.

AND ALSO MY OLD HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLYS ARE FOR SALE!!!! 110 OBO (there 125 a piece new and im including FOR FREE the silverstar ultras low and high which are also 40 dollars a pair, great deal here!!) . FOR BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT WITH SILVERSTAR ULTRAS INCLUDED!!! THEY ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION ABOUT A YEAR OLD, NO SCRATCHED, NO CRACK, NO HAZE OR FOG, AND THEY SHINE GREAT!! EVEN BETTER WITH THE INCLIDED SILVERSTAR ULTRAS. I CAN GARENTEED THEY FIT AN 06 YUKON XL, I KNOW THEY WONT FIT 07+ BUT I THINK THEY FIT 02-06 YUKON'S AND YUKON XL'S , SORRY CHEVY OWNERS GMC USED A DIFFERENT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY THAN CHEVY, THESE WILL NOT FIT A TAHOE OR SUBURBAN OF ANY YEAR!!

All of them look alike. Lights from Link #2 and #3 are exactly the same, so are the lights from link #1 and link #3. I personally really like headlights from link #1 and #3. They look really nice and even have "angel eyes” or as you said halo rings. The difference between others and those is that they also have LED lights which when ON look pretty cool. The price for them is also reasonable (I think), but the final decision is up to you. Good luck!!!!!

Hey RT -- yeah, those look really cool. I betcha the wiring is already in there for the LED halos, and it probably is supposed to connect to the factory harness. You're right, this will complicate your HID install, but not much. Obviously, follow their installation directions, but just remember that if you need to tap in for power, then you need to do it at the FACTORY harness. The electricity coming out of the HID ballasts will completely fry the LEDs (extremely high voltage, but relatively low amperage -- think TASER). This just means you might have to splice into the factory harness on one side -- not a huge deal, but just be aware it's a possible requirement.

Most aftermarket halos I've installed for customers as well as mine, I have had to wire in the halos to the parking light circuit. Not a big deal at all, just thought I'd give you a heads up. No need to cut anything. Just strip back some insulation and solder/heatshrink the new circuits to the parking light wires behind the housings.

Wal-Mart or Radio Shack will have all that. Just use a lighter or a hair dryer, but be careful with the lighter if you do that (obviously)...

trucks are an expensive HOBBY

this is like going to HD television, when i saw how cheap plazma had gotton i though great, then there was an extra 1500 in warrentys, cables, hd dvd and hd directv stuff, power filters, signal filters, and then you get to hook it all up.

i through wow 149 for hids, then i learn i need to spend another 150 on legel projectors, now a sautering iron, well i hope their worth it and they should be. but dang.

Look at it this way -- keep your tools you buy and any leftover supplies, and you'll be that much further ahead for your next little project. :shhh:

As I understand it, HIDs are supposed to run cooler (overall) than halogen lights. Halogens are in the 55-65 Watt range, and HIDs are actually 35 Watts. They're so much brighter though they consume less power and dissipate less energy in the form of heat. I'd say your new housings will be fine, but if anyone else has any other input or can show me I'm wrong, please let me know -- I'm about to put HIDs into my fog light assemblies and would prefer not to melt anything or start a fire...

I love my 6000k's in my stock denali housings, just make sure you drop dime on some good lights as some of those projectors aren't made too well.
Here are my 6000k with piaa fogs, have since switched to 2500k yellow fogs

100% legal since I have a stock halogen projector, it's the *******s in civics who get pulled over for blinding people the projector makes sure the light doesn't distort and cause a driving hazard for other people. My lights are brighter and just as clean as my boy's 07 escalade, as long as you get new housings with projectors you will be fine.

The hid bulb is cooler than any standard halogen because it uses a controlled reaction in an inert gas rather than a filament such as the halogen. The ballasts you see in the kits are used to convert the direct current to the alternating current that the bulbs require, thus creating the controlled reaction of light focused by the projector lens in your housing.
