ok. so I am "trying" to put in a new connector for my fuel pump, but I didn't start the job (hubby did, and has to work too much this week to finish) and I have an issue where of the 4 original wires to the connector (light grey, purple, black with white and solid black) I have only located all but the solid black coming from the truck........ I have been unable to locate a diagram or any info regarding these wires....... I am desperate to get my truck running...(it has been down since Thanksgiving!! and I want to get out of the house!)

I have a 1997 Chevy Tahoe 4X4 with 4 doors. I have the 5.7 engine. No modifications.

Does anyone have any info regarding the wiring?? I have removed the corregated sheath of the wiring bundle from the rear axle up to the front wheel and cannot find any solid black wire in the bundle (because it apparently broke off and I have about a foot of the wire to prove it existed!)

Thanks

Solid black should be a ground..... If you wanted to ghetto it for now, find a bolt, loosen, strip wire a bit, stick under bolt, tighten.

As far as the original wire, keep going up the loom untill you find it....

My svc manual says the black/white is for the pump ground, left top front of engine ground point, plus is also ground for FP relay.

Purple is the Fuel Level sender to Dash.

Grey is power feed to Fuel Pump.

Black is ground for Fuel Level Sender, but schematic didnt post a ground point for it.

If it were me and I couldnt find that other Strait Black wire, I would just tie the 2 blacks together, the Black/White goes to a cylinder head ground anyway.
