I have an 05 Z71 and I love it for it's power, towing capability, ride, handling and it seats 7 comfortably... well 6 anyways. I hate it because it's "new" and therefore has things like a Body Control Computer and a system "BUS."

Recently my heated seat came alive and started turning itself on and off - I have a video. I thought I could simply pull a fuse to stop it from cooking me this summer but when I pulled the only fuse I found which mentioned heated seats "Ignition3 / Heated Seats" nothing happened. The switch still randomly blinked through it's lights and the seat still got hot. Then I took off the door panel and unplugged the switch. Now I couldn't see when the seat was on but I sure could feel it. I took the panel off again, plugged the switch back in, put it all back together and... the power door lock stopped working. Not all of them, just in the driver's door where I was working. And now when I open that door, the computer doesn't know it. The interior lights don't come on and the radio doesn't turn off.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ides on what the problem might be? I tried leaving the battery disconnected for 5 minutes, but that didn't help.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Tom

When in doubt - go back and check your work. I simply didn't get one of the plugs back in all the way on the switch panel.

I still don't know why my seat heater is coming on - even after I pulled the fuse, but everything else is back to normal.

Anyone know which plug to pull under the seat to disconnect the heating element?
