When I programmed the homelink for my garage door opener, everything went according to plan. However, when I go to use, I must be within 10' of the garage door for it to work. My other car works from 50'-100' away. Is there a way to extend the range or do any of you have an idea of why the range is so short?

The range on my Homelink isn't nearly as long as the actual transmitter, but I can still get up to about 50-70 ft. Usually on RF transmitters there is a trimmer adjustment. Don't see why the Homelink system would be different, but I've never had a reason to pull one apart, so I'm not 100% certain if it has an adjustable trim or not. Sorry I couldn't provide any more info on this. But Homelink has a website you can visit and a way to contact them for tech support.

Does the original garage door opener work the same distance, or does it have more range? Might be something in your truck interfering with the RF.
