I replaced both the drivers and passenger hinge pins and bushings. The drivers side fixed my sag. But the passenger door is still sagging and rubbing the latch rod. What else could be wrong?

Could the holes that the bushings fit into be out of round?

Also check your body bushings to make sure they're not deteriorated, causing the body to sag slightly. My driver's door was always squeaking the gasket when it was cold outside no matter what I did, I swapped all the body mounts to poly and no more noise.

Did you replace the bushings as well? If the body lines match up and the latch is dragging on the striker then the striker just needs to be raised or lowered. If the body lines do not line up then the door just needs to be adjusted. Most body shops will have a tool for doing this that your latch closes on and the door is manually lifted up into the correct place. You may be able to do it just be pulling up from the bottom of the door a bit. Its much easier with the tool though. We do about 30 hinge pin and bushing jobs a year on chevys at my shop. Pretty common problem.

The body lines do not line up.
How do you change the body bushings?

I meant door pin bushings, not body bushings. I have never had to replace body bushings to get a door to line up. The door just needs to be adjusted. If you just pull up on the door you should be able to manually adjust it. If that is not possible just stop by a reputable body shop and it is a 5 minute process with the correct tool.

Whoda,

This is a 99 4dr.

I am having trouble getting the new bushing back in. I understand there are 2 size bushings.

I am working on the driver door first.

The smaller bushing goes on the top hole. It seems as if the hole on the hinge are way too small to press bushing in.

Do I need to drill hole bigger to accept the bushing?

Any suggestions.

Whatever you do, DO NOT DRILL THE BUSHINGS, you must have the wrong ones. Buy the kit including pin's from the Chevy Dlr, they will fit.
