ok here is my story, started out with a 5000k 9006 kit from MIKE M JOHNSON, greatkit btw, when i learned that they would only be legle if i got projectors i went and bought a pair. found out the new housings needed 9005, sent then back for an exchange, but got 6000k back as thats what mike had instock, they look great but i think im gunna get a 5000k in 9005 and transfer the 6000k to the high beams. the blue kinda takes away from the light that shines the ROADWAY up. but im amazed that the blue shines like 50 blocks down and reflects off of signs down there, in lighted roads it shines the signes and refletive stuff up REALLY WELL, even if ib bechind other cars. in dark roads i see the entire light and it shines even on the road, but i know thats a trait of HIDS from our enclave and acadia. mikes kit is nice, but they flicker when im at idle, i guess since their hooked up to the alternator insted of the battery.

but i think im gunna get another kit for my high beams as the highbeams bairly show up when i turn them on. :D

PICS

thats my only guess, but the alternator should be putting out 14 volts and they only require 12volts, only reason i said alternator is because they only fliker at idle. when im up at speed they are fine, but idle or accelriating they get dimmer and flick and get brighter again. it may just be that its only 14 here and we average 50 for a low, so the trucks getting used to it. LOL

You sure your install is correct, guys?

I'm wondering why you guys would connect the red harness cable to the positive connection on the alternator? Didn't you get instructions, or read others online here, or was it a different set of instructions or something?!? Never heard of using the alternator + connection for an HID install...

The red lead goes directly on the positive battery terminal!

YIKES!

The positive connection on the alt is already directly wired to the positive on the battery.

If you did the Big 3 upgrade on it, then it really doesn't matter where you place the HID positive... but I don't see why you'd want to use the alternator point.

It's further away from the lights than the positive battery terminal.

Mine barely flickers at idle when its really cold (0-20). I'm fixing that once I install a bigger alternator and do the big 3 upgrade.

the postitive termanal was a HUGE PITA with the connectors on there, the postitive cord on the kit was enough of a block to stop it from getting power to the rest of the truck. i was able to get it on with out the extra cables and was fine. but i would rather not have the alternator chargeing the battery every time my lights are on. so as long as its running of the alternator im happy actully. there was plenty of cord to get there. plus its easy to add another kit if wanted ( I DO)

mine are side post, but i did not have trouble getting the HID leads on, it was getting the battery cables back on the battery once they were on.

same here, that what i meant.

im afraid im gunna have to try a different way though. as tonight on the interstate they turned off all by them selves and would not turn back on, i had to mope along with hazards and fogs. not fun. and now any bump turns them off for like 4 seconds. even the little bump to get on my driveway turns them off and on. they dont fliker, they GO OFF. :wow: :wow: :wow: :(

Sounds like you have a bad ground connection. Did you ground with the BLACK lead to the chassis somewhere, or directly on the battery? I'd use a chassis ground. Also, it's possible your + connection is loose....

I have them grounded to the alternator bolt . Labled GND,same place you put the black cable when jumping
