Hid fog lights?!?!?!

Hey everyone, having a little bit of trouble finding out what bulb type i need for my 2008 Tahoe headlights. I am getting an HID conversion kit put it but dont know what type of bulb it is!!! Can anyone help?!?!?!

Where is the HID kit that come with the light housing (lens, etc..)

I melted the inside of my right fog light bc of the HID intensity and need a new housing and bulb.. I'd like to know my options

I installed HID's, 8000k. the cheap chevy **** cant handle the intensity

Also did you use a 35W or 55W kit?

I used 5202 bulbs but got the whole conversion kit....35W 8000k

I'm curious what kit joeyrocks used.

Our trucks have 5202 fogs. 5202's are hard to find in HID kits. Only a couple companies make them.

What a lot of people do is use an 880 kit. The base of the bulb housing is the same size diameter as 5202 so it fits in the fog housing but you need to use silicon glue to secure the bulbs. Additionally, I think the 5202 HID bulbs are shorter than the 880 bulbs. So if you use 808's it may be too close to the plastic and melt it.


Lastly, I'm curious if he used a 35W or 55W HID kit.


Would love to know since I'm seriously considering doing HID's for low, high, fog.

If you put HID's in the Highs your flash feature will be almost useless. The HID's take a while to warm up so when you try and flash it would just look weird and dim. Plus your ballast will fail real quick dut to intermittent lighting. Now if you just keep the High beams on when you use them then you'll be fine. I suggest you get 35W HID's all around too. Two 55W beams is eay too bright and disturbing for other and then 55W fogs will melt your housing quick!

You could just go to Ebay and by 2007-Up tahoe Fog light kits from Autopia which are metal/glass housings but will run you atleast $150 to install. You will also need and H3C kit for it and not an H3 Hid kit!

i used an 880 hid kit 6000k kit in my tahoe . i dont think anyone makes a plug and play kit that fits right in. use a lil hot glue to hold the bulb and scilla cone to hold it in

There are 5202 plug and play kits. They're $200 though.


I just found out that you can break your stock 5202 bulb out of the base and then fit an H3 HID bulb inside the 5202 bulb.

No glue.

wow that great to see. its to late for me ive had them in for a year now and have some heat damage now. im locking to maybe doing a porjector for light. Anyone know a kit that will work.
