Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I've tried to search for this information but no luck so far. I'm really interested in picking up a set of projectors like this... http://cgi.ebay.ca/00-01-05-GMC-YUK...ryZ33710QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I really like the look of the projectors, and I know some of the guys on this forum have these as well. I'm just wondering if these headlights use the stock bulbs on my XL Denali (9005's), and if they are compatible with an HID kit?

I've read that modifications can be made to the projectors to make them HID compatible, but I'd like to stay away from that if possible. If any of you have any experience with these projectors or have an idea if I can install an HID kit with them, please let me know!

Thanks!

check out mine with HIDS. i used the exact same pair for a while and if i did not upgrade to real denali projectors then i would still be using them. i bought from that same person. yes. low and high are both 9005, just like the stock housings. but just an FYI. the stock projectors are going to give you much better preformance with HIDS. i would stick to those if you want HIDS. at least i have found the GMC projectors to be much better. more heavy duty and solid feeling. plus a much better cut off and less hot spots.

here is a pic . of the e-bay ones.

Thanks RT! I had actually seen those pictures on another thread when I was first searching for this topic. Very nice, clean look! So far I haven't found anybody in my city that would be able to install the halo's on stock Denali projectors, so until then I might try out the e-bay ones and see how it works out.
I had actually e-mailed a couple sellers (including the one you bought yours from) asking if it is HID compatible, and both said no because they "may include H1 or H3 lights". Think they may have changed the projectors since you bought yours? Or do you think the sellers just didn't bother to find out for sure?

Thanks again!

mine came with a H4 light and the output was crap, i filed out the housing to take a 9006 HID bulb and the output was great but the adjustablity on them was really bad, so bad that when i tried to adjust it broke a post:mad: i would stray away from the ebay ones if you have the loot to get a decent pair from an aftermarket company like ANZO or along those lines

i think they just did not bother to check. as i know that the yukon ones use 9005s and the tahoes ones use h1 or H3 lights. (aftermarket)
