HID - Ballast Noise?

Does everyone's ballast for the HIDs make a slight hum? Or is the not supposed to happen? Are my ballast bad?

The ballasts will hum slightly while operating. Just the nature of high voltage.

Mine make the same noise when I first turn them on but then it goes away. I got mine through Mike Johnson and he said that the noise is normal when they are first turned on.

Same deal here on the Ollo kit. McCulloch kit is quieter, but you can't hear either when the vehicle is running... No issues of any kind with either kit.
