i have an 06 tahoe LT. so my battery has died twice since installing this ipod thing isimple gm specific ipod...ha what a pain.
instructions say to hook up power wire to 12v and ground wire to a bolt or metal to ground. Then plug specific wireharness in the aux input of radio and then into interface to hook up ipod. I also added a dice ipod charger/craddle to hold the ipod.

did all that and the battery dead the next day jumped it (that was thursday) ok since then. Now it is sunday and the battery is dead again. went to autozone and they tested the battery it is ok...

i wired the 12v to the radio...i couldn't find a 12v that only came on when the truck was on....
is that killing my battery??? I take the ipod off the craddle and no lights were left on in the truck when i leave the truck parked.

both times the truck died, it had sat for over 12 hours....but it has sat for that long without dieing as well....

The cig lighters/hvac/ everything is constant 12v in the truck...where can i hook this thing up with a 12v that only goes on with the truck on?

I am at the end of my rope here and struggling for answers...any help would be great and appreciated.

Switched 12v behind the steering column panel. Its easier to take out the two lower 7mm screws and pop the panel out. Look in the harness and tap either brown or pink. Each will work I used brown I think for my HU.

I have the same iSimple set up (I love it!) Mine is on all the time and i haven't had any problems with the battery. We did get a new battery shortly after I had it installed though. Good luck, i hope you get it fixed:)

changed the power to a switched source(ignition wire)...and good start ever since
