help this rust

What is easiest way to fix this on a 2 door tahoe so i can get it inspected. I just want it to pass inspection. I dont have a welder

humph.. never heard of rust not letting a vehicle pass inspection.. guess its because i live in the south.. lol

but man, that does look like a serious case of body rot.. might try welding in some sheet medal, and doing some bondo.. probably cheapest way out..

You can't weld? Let's see if I can come up with another option....

By the looks of it, you might be able to get away with sanding and fiberglass. Get a piece of chicken wire as your support structure. Put the fiberglass mat over it and shove it in the hole so that the chicken wire holds the shape.

Put epoxy on it, sand then go to bondo. then primer. Instead of painting your whole vehicle, paint the bottom 8" black all the way around, like a 2 tone paint job.

I'll warn you, it's not a permanent fix. A swift kick in that area will pop the fiberglass, but if done right, it should pass inspection.
