Does anyone have an idea if a 07 Tahoe Radio will fit directly into an 02 tahoe?

Won't work. Size, mounting system, harness, antenna receptacle, communication protocol, are all different.

just curious, the nav system in my 08 denali is the same measurements in my 06 yukon, does that mean with a new harness i could have a gmt 900 nav in my gmt800 yukon ??

dude, i read that, he is talking about an 02 tahoe, the 02 and back had a completly different radio, the 03 and up have a new radio, and i have a nav system that matches the measurements of the 07 nav radio. that is why my question was different.

Still. The new models use a LAN system for communication with the radio. The older (03-06) use class-2 data bus, and even older (99-02 or 01-02 depending on body style still use the class-2 data bus i believe). Communication protocol, plug type are all different, as well as the antenna and other thing too i'm sure.

Well then i do not know. I thought that all the older body styles use class-2. i know that the 2005 models and most 2006 do. They may have made changes in 06 that i wasn't aware of. I just checked out pac's website and they show all yukon/tahoe/silverado/denali through 06 use class-2 and all the 07-up use LAN. All documentation and harnesses i have seen fit trough 06 telling me that they all use class-2. Do you have pics of your radio (front or back)?

what would a pic tell you, i do and here you go, but your gunna find that is an gmt 800 nav radio. But i thought that the lan was when all the noises came through the radio speakers, maybe im wrong on that. but its a late model 06 build in aug (thought it was september at first but then i realised 8 was augest and not september) of 06 according to the sticker on the door.

here is a handy pic and if you give me about 2 hours when i get eht truck back from the detailer (getting squeaky clean:clapping: ), then i can get you much better pics.

Yes that it obviously a GMT 800 radio. I have never removed a nav from a GMT 800 but i have removed many of the 6 disc and standard radios. They all have the same HVAC control (which uses class-2) so to my knowledge that is a class-2 radio. Some one else may know more (JK). But i am almost positive you are dealing with class-2 data here. As for noise through the speakers. I have done extensive work on an 03 tahoe and 05 sierra denali. And on both those vehicles the systems sounds (onstar, chimes, pedal chimes) all come through the stereo speakers, as there is no extra speaker for these sounds. It has been that way since at least 2003, and maybe earlier. Hopefully someone else chimes in with more info.

03-06 GMT-800 and 07 Classic Silverado are Class II databus. 07 up GMT-900 uses LAN. Class II runs chimes through the driver speaker as well.
