HELP! 06 Tahoe with new 22 inch rims

HELP. I got new rims. Now every time I start the truck, I get a message on the dash that says something like "check tire sensor"....What can i do to turn that off? I'm getting that since I took off the stock rims. Please help! Thanks

You didn't swap the tire pressure sensors out of the stock wheels did you?

I didn't swap those...should I have? Is that a big deal? I hate that message everytime I start the car that says "service tire sensors" or something like that.....Urrgghhh

Of course you have to put them on the new wheels.
I'm sure there is someone on here who probably knows how to bypass that...not sure though.

If you want the message to go away and the TPSM to work you will have to put the sensors on your new rims. The sensors communicate with the computer via radio signal to let it know how much air is in each tire. Since you didn't swap them at the time you changed yhe wheels you may need to retrain them when you put them in you new wheels because they are wheel-centric. Just take you sensors off your stock wheels and go to discount, they will install and train them for cheap or free.
