Hi im new to the site and this is my first post, i recently bought a 1997 tahoe with 246k its been well kept but has had trouble starting recently, the other night my starter went out in a gas station parking lot, i replaced the starter the next morning and the truck starts 2nd or third try but runs fine after ingnition, it did the same thing before the starter crapped out on me, i thought the new starter was going to fix this!!! help please!!

Oh boy, where to start.....

Check battery, is it slow cranking?

Check fuel pressure, do you have any backfiring?

Pull codes on it, parts stores will usually do this for free....

Check under the cap and look at the rotor.

Pull plastic elbow off intake and look down in with throttle open, do you see small black plastic lines, or do you see fat white ones with wires?
