Hi everyone! I am a new guy here trying to get info on Denalis! Any help you can give me is a appreciated ...I hope to learn a lot.

I also have a question - I want to purchase a 2000 Denali ...it has 136K miles on it ...interior looks great but ....is 136K a lot of miles? what are Denali/Yukon/Tahoe engines rated for? where does the odometer turn over?

I am sure there is FAQ for this ...but I didn't see it. Please feel free to point me in the right direction ...and if I am posting in the wrong thread, by all means Move me :yesnod:

Thanks again ...glad to be here

It would all depend on the maint. on the vehicle.

I have 128,000+ on my Yukon SLE and have had only one problem, a check valve on the 2nd air injection system (shoots fresh air into the exhaust at start up) and I maintain my Yukon all the time.

Denalis are very nice cars. I haven't read any troubles but few with electrical, engine, tranny (they break at 40,000 or go until 200,000 depending on maint), my motor doesn't burn a drop of oil and runs as good as the day I bought it. Of course I changed my plugs, flushed brake fluid, changed antifreeze, lube my elec. windows etc etc etc. I run Mobil 1 oil and use Wix/Napa Gold filters and never run it out of gas, those electrical pumps don't like empty tanks.

Pretty reliable rigs. 4wd's (I think) have the dreaded shaft clunk in steering system somewhere, mine is 2wd and I don't think I have the same setup/problem. If I get lazy and don't lube the 11 zerks underneath (I have done it twice in all it's years) then the front end clunks a little but grease fixes it right now. I checked the ball joints and they are good, rolls straight as an arrow and I have over 50,000 on the tires that Les Schwab thinks are new and then they see how many miles are on it.

Miles seems high, be careful on how much it is, blue book it with the miles.

LOVE EM' Once you get on that 6.0 from 40mph its like someone just popped you in the back of the head and you better hold on! But no issues with mine and dont forget to get that magnaflow if you decide for a denali. besides that i get 15.2 gas mileage and it runs great. Ill leave you with this if it broke down tomorow it would be the best 21 grand I ever spent and I have only had it for 8 months.

He said 2000 Denali...so correct me if I'm wrong, but the 2000 models were still the older body style with the 5.7, not the 6.0, right?

Right you are Yuke. The Denalis and the Escalade for that model year kept the OBS. My sister has one and it has the 5.7 with 112k. She drives it like an old lady and it looks like it was driven off the lot last week..
