Not to highjack but I just bought a 99 with same problem. Snow just stoped here so I was gonna look under hood for lose vac. line. Could that be it? I know some gm's are vac. controled. Would this be different? Elec. control?

So whats the best way to eliminate the heater control, or the blend doors?

The way I see it if the heater control is shot the blend doors wont move.
What wires???
Is there certain wires you are testing while having a certain heat selection?

My temp and fan speeds work fine, just no selections, its mainly defrost. Tho it seems if i select something like floor only it changes to the floor a tiny bit, but not fully and you still hear air rushing out the defrost.

If it is the motor that controls the blend door, what is the real name for it?
Not that I goto the auto parts store and say I need a blend door motor and they look at me like Im on crack! Lol

Oh I also got a 1999 Hoe LT

achipnachair, there is no vacuum lines for the hvac system, its all electronic on the inside i think.

I just took my glove box out, and looked but didnt see anything much. I can hear blend door motor moving or attempting, but I seem to only get the vents open very little since i only get a slight breeze and mostly all defroster mix from every selection. Like a 10/90 mix.
