headlight faliure

ok my dad has a 2002 silverado. for some reason the headlights will not come on. the dash lights and day time running lights work. i tried turning the headlights on manually by the switch but no luck. any idea of what is wrong?

It could be a bad switch. Are the headlight bulbs good? Do the High Beams work?

no the high and low beams dont work. the only ones that work are the daytime running lights when the car is in drive. i pretty sure all the bulbs are good i just think its kindof strange for all four bulbs to be out.

It is strange. Not impossible, however.

It reads like a bad switch of a defective multi function switch (turn signal stalk).

Be sure though your fuses are good.
