I have a 95 2 door 4 wheel drive tahoe and i was wondering if anybody has put on any headers, if so what kind, do they give it a nice sound, also do you gain HP or MPG. Also what kind of cold air intake system do you guys like.
Thanks for your help in advance.

I put AEM LT headers on when I put on a new cam, made a world of difference!

i put on a set of Gibson Chrome Coated Headers and an AEM Brute Force Dry Filter CAI.

the CAI went on with the lift so no real data there.

the headers went on after and though i didn't see much of a MPG gain, there is a difference on the low end.

installing then was easy, getthing the 12 year old stockers off was a pain. had to cut all 6 bolts off the bottom flanges and took awhile to get the hose off the rear of the driver side manifold.

now changing the spark plugs is the biggest pain in the ass now. the 2 on the passenger rear are almost impossible.... i'll get some pics up sometime this weekend.

yeah that hose waay in the back sucked for me too. little turns with the wrench. took forever it seemed.
headers look 100 times cooler than manifolds anyway. and when you open the hood people see them right away. well right on, Im glad you get those on there, I knew you had them for a while in the garage.

yeah they sat in the box in the garage for almost a year... haha. they are all burnt in and different colors now.

trick to that hose on the back is to soak it with primus and then heat it up with a propane torch (CAREFULLY). took almost no effort to break it loose with the crows foot socket. then just unscrewed it by hand. that primus stuff is awesome.

i need to clean up the CAI and i'll take some pics tomorrow if i get a chance. def. makes the engine bay look better.

96ProCompTahoe is there any way you could post a video of what your headers sound like or if you know of a video already up.

Thanks.

i mean your not going to hear the headers. it has a dual in and out flowmaster 50 series muffler on it. if i can find it and get it posted up i had a crappy video of the truck with just the headers on it. should have just side piped it without mufflers. haha

still haven't had a chance to clean it up and take some pics under the hood. should get it done tomorrow as i have to figure out what the hell is squealing on it now (expecting the water pump)

i need to tighten my headers and the collector bolts up again, there a little over due. the end of the headers that bolt to the factory exhaust were a crappy fit here as well, almost like they were to big. i do hear a small leak from the pass. side but i figures i can crank the bolts down some more.

aw i love the burnt in chrome colored headers. just makes it looks like its been driven, haha. I'd like to see how the black ones look after they have been used though, as thats what i almost picked up.

well i was dissapointed i wanted it to be black cause my tahoes black and it would look sharp but the paint flaked off after it got heated up and now there just steel ones, that i have to keep polishin, but yeah mine dont collect to goo eather and i keep crankin down and now the cup that seats in the ypipe is kinda deformed on my header and i have to pull my y pipe off and bend it back out. but other wise i think there good, im gettin a cam for my truck soon it should be in firday so i hope to get it in soon to see hoe it sounds and runs, i really want the lift and tires you got on your truck haha
