when the lights come on after dark is there any way to shut them off ??

Push the interior cabin light switch in and out 4 times. It's located right underneath the switch for the headlights.

It puts the light into manual mode.

If you just want them off at that one time, turn the knob counterclockwise to the off setting (one setting before Auto) on the dial.

The knob will spring back to auto but the lights should stay off until you restart the car.

Interesting. I don't have that setting on my '01 hoe.

I have Auto, Parking, On and the switch for the cabin lights on/off when the door is opened.

Oops...never mind then. Mine's an 03 and they changed the switch then.

I had a 2000 (same body style) and I remember you had to do something with the dome light button like bzbatl suggested.

yeah you just push the overide dom light button 4 times repeadtly and you should hear a "Chime" and the should turn off, and repeat the steps to turn back on

Can you put an '03 switch in an '01 and get this feature? There is a switch on ebay now.
