I am thinking about buying a few things for the tahoe..... Mainly a Magnaflow Cat-back and a Cold Air Intake. I have read a lot of the old posts, just wondering if anyone has found any recent good pricing on CAI, and what brand would you recommend.

Also, if I am replacing the cat-back....should I go ahead and do I high flow cat as well?

Thanks!

I have seen some people use pvc tubing that they got from home depot.. in the plumbing section you should be able to fine the tubing and perhaps a reducer etc in order to get it to work. I haven't made one myself, but its cheap! If this forum doesn't have a write up about it, try searching online. the worst that can happen is that you got your hands dirty and lost a few bucks.

Aem intake

Magnaflow exhaust

I love them both, spent $300 on the exhaust and the intake was free. I love the aem and would have happily paid for one, I sell them for $250 but I'm sure they're cheap on ebay or used off craigslist. Intake and exhaust netted around 30wtq on the ass dyno and I get better mileage too.

I would get a Volant CAI. As for a cat back I wouldnt waste my money. I would just go to a exhaust shop and get a magnaflow, flowmaster, etc. replacement muffler.

I wouldn't call it a waste by any means.. high flow cat(s) combined with a good muffler and the correct size tubing for the exhaust will improve performance, wether its up top or low end torque.

highflow cats dont come on a catback exhaust systems. I have also read that I the exhaust pipe size on catbacks are the same as factory.

I'm gonna hook a magnaflow high flow y-pipe in a week or so, I'll try to get pics and review but I need some replacements anyway (occasionally throws catalyst code).

You are right, but that's not what my point was. what I meant was that if you COMBINE a high flow cat with your catback or however you choose to have your system setup it will improve your performance that much more.
