hard wire for escort 9500i radar

hey i just bought a 07 hoe last september and just got a escort 9500i radar detector. how and where can i hard wire it so i dont have to use the cig. lighter?

The connector on the rear view mirror has a switched 12V and ground.

so i can use the direct wire smart cord? do i just tap in to the power wire and ground it? do i have to take off the panel for the dome light?

i spliced mine into my sunroof wire...never thought of the rear view, very smart!
