"GMC" Vs "Bowtie"??

I came across a thread about removing the GMC on the grill as I have a 07 Yukon. is it the same as the Bowtie removal? Also i'm a little confused, exactly how identical is the Taheo to the Yukon. Thanks. I want to paint the GMC Black along with the YUKON on the side of the vehicle.
