gas warning?

does the 1997-1999 chevy tahoe LT 4x4 have a "low gas warning" light or any thing besides the gas needle to indicate that the gas is low? because i herd that some dont.

I honestly can't remember ever seeing it, but the only time my gas tank has been that empty was the day I bought it. I made sure that the dealer filled the tank as part of the deal, but I don't remember if there was a light or not.

i dont understand why. when my brother was in high school, his 89 honda accord had one and so does my grandmas 93 infiniti, i cant belive that a "1999" does not.

If you do drive it to "E" and fill it up, you'll notice that they've included a 4 or 5 gallon buffer (just a guess, not really sure what the exact number is). My '99 Tahoe has a 30 gal fuel tank. The first day I got it, the fuel gauge was nearly at empty and it only took 20 gals.

Sheesh.. if i drive mine to E.. it dies.. causing fuel pump failure...

I have actually gone below E several times (stupid gas stations on 5 were too far apart) and still had some to spare; I think it took 28 gallons to fill.

ah well, when i put my new cluster in i set the fuel guage back some so.. it would actually go below E.. but i haven't even let it go below 1/4 yet.. so

I also don't let it go below 1/4. I hate having the pump automatically shut off at $75.:(
