Gas Leak???

Hi everyone. I was driving up to tacoma tonight and filled the hoe all the way up. after awhile i started smelling gas in the cab but i just figured it was the old chevy in front of me so i ignored it. well when i was on my way back and almost home i hit one of the corners faster than i usually do lol and pulled into my driveway. As i was pulling into the driveway it started to smell like gas Really bad so i stopped with the car running and checked everything no leaks and it was still running fine....im lost any advice would help. Thanks.

I assume the truck was running fine. So my guess would be possibly a return line that is leaking.

lol thanks yea the truck runs perfect but i did drive it again today and didn't smell anything so maybe since the gas tank was nearly full and i hit a corner kinda fast maybe the gas spilled out or something?thats the only thing i could think. also checked everything today and no leaks.Anyways thanks for the reply.

i had fill tube leak with a full tank, had to replace clamp. if u go under truck u should be able to see a stain on tank if it leaked

make sure you have a good gas cap on it. i had a similar problem and it turned out the locking gas cap i had on it was letting the fumes out.

could also be ring on top of fuel tank, when you take down the fuel tank and remove lock ring you notic the the opening on the tank has a steel ring molded into it to hold the lock ring that holds the fuel pump, that molded ring rusts up and in time the seal from the rubber ring is not enough to hold down the pressure and gas in tank so when you fill up it leak out, had to change my tank in 95 gmc yukon due to this problem. found good tank in junkyard just inspect it good make sure that ring isn't rusting and swap it out.
