does anyone know offhand what the correct FUEL PRESSURE ( in LBS) should be on a 00' 5.3 ?? When I go to start the truck in the morning, it starts and stalls on the 1st crank. The 2nd crank it fires up fine. I replaced the fuel filter, plugs, wires and I run 93 octane. I will put some injector cleaner in this week. Any ideas?? I was thinking there was a possibility of a pressure problem???

sounds like the fuel pump itself is starting to go ...usually when you turn the key you can hear the pump prime before you turn it over...

I wanna say 50-55psi, spikes to just over 60 with a walbro after the system turns off. You should not loose much pressure even with the truck sitting overnight.

Boost is correct. I just changed mine in the Parking lot of Wal Mart last month on vacation. I was getting 5PSI from the original. Check it. if you have a manual follow it. If not, above 50 and less than 60 with the key on and engine off is what you should get.

well, I still hear the "buzz" from the pump itself, so the pump isnt bad. Yesterday I poured 2 bottles of chevron injector cleaner in, filled it with 93 ocatne and off I went. I DONT have the hard start problem in the morning anymore. It seems like it "wants" to not fire up but it does. I cleaned the Throttle body 10,000 miles ago, maybe its due for another cleaning. I will test the pressure next week.

The fuel level sensor is BAD on my pump, when I fill up it says I ahve no gas etc...its and intermittent problem which is annoying but I wont replace the pump until it goes.
