I was messing around about two months ago in the mud and got snagged on some brush. My front valance broke off from bumper on driver's side. I thought I fixed it pretty good. However we been getting alot of freezing rain and snow around here (wisconsin). The valance came undone from large amounts of snow building up. The local dealership says I need new front bumper and valance. Do I go stock bumper or aftermarket? I really like the ss bumper but don't whant something to go over existing bumper. Any ideas or suggestions (pics) would be great.

I'd get the SS Bumper cover, its real good/sexy looking and plus it will make your Tahoe stand out from the crowd!

The driver side broke lose with part of the bumper (plastic clip inside bumper ,but still part of bumper ) tried rigging it up but not working out. Dealership was actucally cheaper by two hundred or so than three local body shops. estimated was around a thousand.

I tore mine off this past summer. I would need a new bumper to replace it since the bumper is a little cockeyed now. It really isn't that noticeable. My recommendation is that if your bumper looks fine, remove the valence and leave it be.

You might want to try mighty putty to glue the tab back on. The stuff is strong and has held everthing I have used it on.

i'm going to wait till spring( after allsnow and ice) and try to rig up one more time. if that doesn't work then then i'm going to remove the valance and be done. i really don't want to pay 1000 or so when it's not noticeable. I am very anal about my vehicles but some things you got to let slide. however i do like that ss bumper. Is that a replacement or an over lay?

The SS bumper is an overlay. I haven't seen an actual replacement, and I've looked. If you find one, let us know.
