I finally broke down and decided to have my front differential looked at on my 2003 Yukon Denali AWD. I dropped it off Wednesday evening after work and just as the owner said, the carrier bearings where getting worn.

They sell a kit that includes all new carrier bearings apparently for these differentials. $645.00 dollars later, I have a quiet smooth running Denali now!!

That $645.00 included Royal Purple added to the differential. That alone was $57.00 on my bill. I thought was a little high, but I did not have Schaefers available to me.

I will post some pictures later on of the bearings and such so everyone can see what was going on.

Thanks!!!

That would be fantastic. I know there are quite a few of us here with this issue. Thanks.

Without pulling your bearings out, you really wont know. As the shop owner said, it is common for these trucks and really any vehicle that is AWD. Putting strain on those bearings while turning is what does it.

I will get some pics up later tonight.

Where did you get the work done?

I'm in Jacksonville to and I think my 2004 Tahoe has this issue. Where did you take your truck? I want to get it fixed but I want to make sure they do it right. Thanks.
