From 12MPG to 20MPG, Impossible??

So again i have an 01 tahoe LT 2wd 5.3. Over summer i was making a ton of short trips because i wasnt in school and averaged about 12mpg....not good but i wasnt expecting a lot. I started school at Cal state long beach again 2 days ago. Its a 40 mile commute and i usually go around 70mph. With a full tank of fuel on tuesday morning, i leave for school. I just got back 100 miles into the tank with over 3/4 of it left. Doing the math, i'm averaging 20mpg on this tank so far. Is this possible with only a Superchips tune, Airaid CAI, poweraid TBS, and Magnaflow catback??

Gotta hand calc the mileage, I bet you're getting 17-18 actual.

true, i'm sure there's a little room for error in my findings but it shocked me when i still had appreciable fuel left in the tank

You should wait unitl you fill up and then divide the actual miles driven to how manys gallons used. That way you will really get a more precise number. I noticed that on my gas guage, it seems as though you can drive forever unitl it hits 3/4 tank, then it just drops quick!

yeah and with these trucks it only half way when it says 3/4 full. I filled up once having half a tank and it still took $65.00
