that or get some of the acid that truns rust into a paintable surface. ( can't remember what its called off the top of my head)

ive been debating on how to do mine. thinking of trying the rustoleum HD tractor paint (something to that effect) they have at the local farm store... says to wire brush off loose rust and put the paint on... run me about $10 and an afternoon... if it falls off i can bed line it for less that $40 and an afternoon.

I used the hammer coat brush on .you can paint it over rust if you want to.

plus the rubber coat will be harder to keep clean since it's a rough surface.

I POR15'ed mine. I bought it for 45 bucks a quart and i used 2. i could of gotten away with 3 but didnt have the money at the time.. Well its been like the 3rd week with it on, and well it looks a lot better, but theres no way in making it perfect. You can either paint or roll or brush it on. I brushed it at first (paininmyass), bcuz you cant get everywhere u want. Then i threw the rest into my crappy spray gun and put the pressure down to 25-35 and sprayed it. Its a lot easier and looks nicer. I did my inner wheel wells with it. And well the whole underneath. The only real way to do this is to take the frame off and sand blast it then rustproof it, but no one has the time for that.. well idk.. if u have any questions let me know.. i used again POR15 gloss black. i didnt use the acid or the clear. i jsut straight up used the 2 quarts. right over the rust. make sure u dont have any grease or oil on the frame bcuz in 2 days itll peal and fly right off. haha i had a little do that and i knew it was since i couldnt get all the grease off. but whatev.. ill take pics if u want..
