Yep the bearing was ceasing up on my alternator rather than **** around with it i decided to put a new one in since it was original also noticed a fluctuation in my amps when the squeak was there and when it wasn t and the last peice of the puzzle was the shavings of the belt around the alternator housing......fun fun fun

i might be wrong about this... but I heard that the Denali/Escades have higher amp alternators than the standard Yukon/Tahoe... IF this is true, then perhaps you can use them. I believe it's about 160amps vs. 120-130amp. Plus they're oem.

Like I said, I just "heard" about this so I may be wrong... but it might be something to look into~

My '99 Denali is at 160k miles and the original alternator is still working fine (knock on wood)

mine's the OE one , its 105a and still works great at 120K.
when I look for options on alternators for that year on HOalternators.com it looks like it came standard with 100. options were 105,124, 140.. which I think is weird. but.. all they do is alternators...

great. now it'll blow tomorrow cause I said that.

the bigger alternators look like they use a different bracket. i had the guys at napa pull one out and compare it to the regular one when i had to replace mine the first time around. they didn't even look close. anyone ever swap the 105 for the 140 using the same mounts?

naw dude. you were right.. there was OE and then 3 weird-ass options, proportionately spaced, roughly what you said.
My info could be bad too. but we're all getting closer to knowing all the info we can know. :)
