i really dont think the extra pipe makes a difference, I got the dual out the side and it sounds perfect and looke even better, than again i am all about symmetry.

You're probably right. The weight would not be significant. So a pipe off each side, or two outlets on the passenger rear?

are the newer models also 3" dual in and 2.5" dual out. my 06 denali is setup dual/dual so i plan on getting the part #530504 which can be found on ebay for $130 shipped

Same, a dual-exit system stands out more to the eye. I've always been a symmetry freak.
